“SEDD” receives “DSCD” & SHUROOQ

Sharjah Economic Development Department “SEDD” received delegation from Department of Statistics and Community Development “DSCD”, and Sharjah Investment, and Development Authority “SHUROOQ”. This meeting was held to strengthen relations between local entities and discuss business progress in a number of projects and initiatives. The meeting dealt with a number of topics of common interest, including working to provide integrated statistical data for foreign investment in the emirate, and to facilitate the process of exchanging data and information between relevant government agencies and departments. This was done in order to enhance the levels of the statistical process and support sustainable development strategies in Sharjah.

From her side, Noura bin Sandal, Deputy Director of Economic Planning and Studies Department at SEDD, welcomed the delegation, expressing the role of this visit in strengthening various cooperation relations and accelerating development processes. Also, she added that such visits and meetings are an important station for enhancing cooperation and exchanging visions between various government agencies in the emirate. During the meeting, the delegation discussed the process of exchanging data between the concerned authorities to achieve the desired results of the statistical process. This is considered the main support for updating the database, statistics and analyzes for investors and decision-makers, to reach its vision of leadership in comprehensive development to attain a diversified, competitive and innovative knowledge-based economy in accordance with its strategic plan calling for contributing to planning and leading the economic development in Sharjah.

In addition, Noura bin Sandal confirmed that SEDD is working to implement economic plans and conduct studies in a way that contributes to the development of the mutual work system. This will help to find outputs that serve all parties to improve the levels of service provided to investors. Likely, it would contribute to provide more services and facilities necessary for the business environment in the emirate. This will lead towards creating a strong and solid economy characterized by knowledge and sustainability, attracting foreign investments in all sectors, and enhancing the country's competitiveness at the global level.

In the end of the meeting, the delegation thanked SEDD for their reception and affirmed their enthusiasm to enhance cooperation and coordination with the Department in a way that contributes to the development of the work system. Likely, the two sides stressed on the importance of enhancing future cooperation in line with the government service standards that the local and federal government aspire to. Also, they pointed out to the importance of holding such meetings in the future because of their role in accelerating development processes and enhancing the investment movement in Sharjah.
