SEDD visits Factories in Sharjah

Sharjah Economic Development Department “SEDD” carried out a number of promotional field visits to factories and industrial facilities in Sharjah. These visits aimed at enhancing permanent communication with the industrial sector and the business community, inspecting the workflow in factories and their production and export programs, and promoting direct communication between the Department and owners of industrial establishments to identify their aspirations and the most important needs and challenges they face for the sustainability and development of the industrial sector and its activities.

SEDD delegation visited Everest Factory and Archers Coffee at which it reviewed the workflow, their production and export programs, in addition to the marketing and promotion plans adopted by them to enter the regional markets. Also, SEDD delegation looked into the factory management mechanism and the approved production lines, which are supported by high-quality technical mechanisms. In addition, it discussed a number of topics related to the reality of the industrial sector and the most important needs of such sector in Sharjah.

Commenting on that, Mariam Nasir Al Suwaidi, Deputy Director of Industrial Affairs Department at SEDD, praised the efforts of industrial establishments in Sharjah and their role in leaving a clear impact on the industries that characterize the Emirate regionally and locally. Likely, she pointed out that SEDD visits to industrial facilities in the emirate are part of its endeavor to enhance permanent and continuous communication with the local business community. Also, these visits help to get more knowledge about the reality of the economic sectors in general and the industrial sector in particular. This is done through exchanging views and working together to overcome any challenges that may hinder the growth and prosperity of the industrial establishments' business, as well as examining the level of quality of services provided to them.

Furthermore, Al Suwaidi stressed on SEDD’s concerns to enhance the elements of success for the owners of factories and establishments, in a way that contributes to the sustainability and development of companies and factories. She added that such thing will develop Sharjah’s industrial sector, which will enhance the strategic partnership with the private sector and touch their needs, provide an ideal business environment in the Emirate and attract more investments in the industrial sector.

On the other hand, Sheikh Saud Muhammad Al Qasimi, Deputy Head of Industrial Investment Section at SEDD, illustrated that SEDD focuses on helping factories to be introduced globally. Also, it pay attention to support them to export their products to promising markets and provide facilities and services that enhance the presence of industrial companies in various countries of the world.

Furthermore, Sheikh Saud Muhammad Al Qasimi pointed out that the services provided by SEDD to industrial facilities and factory owners provide a fast and safe work environment and increase the sustainability of business and activities. He pointed out that the Department is keen to provide advice and technical support to these factories in order to enhance the quality of their products and work on studying all the challenges and difficulties they face in order to come up with results, recommendations and supportive decisions that enhance these industrial investments in the emirate.

From their side, the owners of factories and industrial establishments praised the visits carried out by SEDD. Also, they affirmed their enthusiasm to continue to work so that their factories will contribute effectively to providing an added value to the industrial sector in Sharjah. Likely, they stressed on their concerns to support the efforts of the Government of Sharjah to activate the role of the private sector to be a strategic partner in achieving sustainable economic development in Sharjah. In addition, they praised the efforts placed by SEDD to support the private sector and its concerns to enhance national exports, thus contributing to the development of the industrial sector, serving its workers in the best way, and providing them with the appropriate support more effectively.
