SEDD organizes 296 Training Programs during 2021

Sharjah Economic Development Department “SEDD” revealed that it has organized 296 training programs during 2021 with 3228 participations from its employees. Likely, the total number of trainees in the Department reached 83 ones between specialized, field and voluntary training, as well as the summer training program for students from various educational institutions.

Commenting on that, Abdullah Al Mahmoud, Director of Support Services Department at SEDD, stressed that the Department pays great attention and place the needed efforts to develop its cadres and prepare them according to the highest standards of efficiency. Such thing falls within its concerns to offer its employees with the appropriate skills that keep pace with the needs of the labor market.

Al Mahmoud intensified that SEDD implemented many training programs to raise the level of efficiency to improve their skills needed in their career.  Also, he pointed out that these programs are part of several initiatives launched by SEDD for its employees with the aim of refining their skills, which is a key factor in advancing performance to new levels of success and excellence.

In addition, Al Mahmoud clarified that SED will continue to provide training programs for university students to enhance their skills and knowledge and developing their competencies and capabilities. He added that such thing will contribute to enhancing their future contribution to various economic and service activities in the public and private sectors in the country, and will allow them to engage in the developing work environment.

Furthermore, Al Mahmoud stressed that SEDD is constantly seeking to raise the level of efficiency and performance and refine expertise by training all employees and cadres according to a plan that is being developed continuously. He added that the Department is committed to the Government of Sharjah’s directions and approach to benefit from the experiences, energies and capabilities of the youth. Additionally, Al Mahmoud illustrated that it is important to implement training courses for employees and cadres because of their vital and effective role in achieving the highest levels of excellence and success, as well as achieving goals and raising the level and capabilities of employees. He carried out that such courses and advanced qualitative programs contribute to revealing the energies and capabilities of young people, and provide them with the opportunity to express their aspirations, suggestions and plans to improve work and performance, which is positively reflected on everyone.

From her side, Noura AL Zarouni, Deputy Director of Support Services Department at SEDD, emphasized that training is one of the means of developing human capital that the Department relies on to raise the level of functional efficiency of its employees. She added that it helps to keep pace with the challenges represented by the changing work requirements, given that training leads to the transfer of scientific and practical knowledge in innovative ways that enable the employee and the Department to adapt with the cognitive acceleration within the work environment. Likely, she said that training programs reached an advanced stage in coordination with the Directorate of Human Resources in Sharjah.

Moreover, Al Zarouni pointed out that SEDD would continue to enhance the efficiency of its human cadres. Also, the Department is working on continuous development that contributes to achieving the policies set in the Emirate. Such thing is done by improving performance and upgrading it to competitive levels and activating the career path policy that contributed to attracting and maintaining national cadres.
