SEDD successfully Concludes “Ruwad Al Qima” Program

Sharjah Economic Development Department “SEDD” concluded “Ruwad Al Qima” program to qualify Heads of Sections and Divisions. This program was held within SEDD’s plan to reflect its belief in the importance of preparing a leadership team capable of managing its work efficiently and effectively and contributing to advancing development and building the future of Sharjah.

This program, which is an annual program that aims to develop the capabilities of SEDD leaders, has been designed to advance their career paths to advanced stages that ensure excellence and development.

Commenting on that, HE Sultan Abdullah bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, SEDD Chairman, emphasized that the Department pays great attention to the national human resources. Also, it is constantly keen on attracting them to work in it and refining their capabilities and efficiency by enrolling them in various training courses and programs in line with the government's vision that focuses on citizens.

Also, HE said that one of the most important objectives of “Ruwad Al Qima” Program is to create competencies that will build upon the vision of Sharjah in particular, and UAE in general. Likely, it seeks to provide SEDD leaders with administrative and leadership skills that help them make decisions in work. such thing will contribute at the sustainability of work according to best practices in various fields. In addition, this program will help to spread the values of leadership, cooperation, innovative thinking, passion, commitment to work, effective positive communication, and increased effectiveness.

On the other hand, Abdullah Al Mahmoud, Director of Support Services Department at SEDD, explained that training is one of the means of developing human capital that the Department relies on to raise the level of functional competence of its employees. He added that training and development in its modern sense is an integrated framework and a strategic choice in the human resources development system that SEDD seeks to achieve in order to keep pace with the challenges represented by the changing work requirements. Also, he illustrated that training leads to the transfer of scientific and practical knowledge in innovative ways that enable the employee and the Department to keep pace with the acceleration of knowledge within the work environment.

Furthermore, Al Mahmoud indicated that the Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs was hosted as one of the leading figures in the program in order to learn and benefit from her experience and expertise in all fields. It is worth mentioning that the number of participants reached (26) employees of SEDD leaders, who concluded the program by preparing development work projects, each according to his/her specialization. Also, the best three projects were handed over to the concerned Departments with the aim of reviewing solutions and recommendations for each project and researching the possibility of their implementation.

Moreover, it should be noted that the desired goal of the training program is to identify one of the most important Emirati achievements and to emphasize the ambition and future vision of the wise leadership, in order to inspire leaders to give more and strive for pioneering achievements. Al Mahmoud explained that the Department is looking forward to developing the program and adding some new programs and activities for other leadership groups in the coming year.
