SEDD visits Number of Industrial Facilities

Sharjah Economic Development Department “SEDD” carried out a number of field visits to various factories and establishments in the industrial sector in Sharjah. These visits were done to identify their needs, enhance direct communication between the Department and the owners of industrial establishments in order to recognize their aspirations and the most important needs and challenges they face for the sake of sustainability and development of their activities.

The delegation from SEDD visited Grankraft Industries LLC lately in Sharjah to look at the workflow, production and export programs, as well as marketing and promotion plans to enter regional markets. The delegation also briefed on the factory management mechanism and the approved production lines, which are supported by high-quality technical mechanisms. The two sides reviewed number of issues related to industrial sector as well as the its most important needs in Sharjah.

HE Sultan Abdullah bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, SEDD Chairman, praised the efforts of industrial establishments in Sharjah and their role in leaving a clear impact on the industries that characterize the Emirate regionally and locally. HE pointed out that the Department's visits to industrial facilities in the emirate are part of its endeavor to enhance permanent and continuous communication with the local business community and to be acquainted closely with the economic sectors in general and the industrial sector in particular. Such thing is done through the exchange of views and mutual work to overcome any challenges that may delay the growth and prosperity of the work of industrial establishments, as well as examining the level of quality of services provided to them.

Likely, Al Suwaidi stressed that SEDD is interested in intensifying its field visits to identify the most important needs and challenges facing the business community and its keenness to address them, in addition to enhancing the elements of success for the owners of factories and establishments, in a way that contributes to the sustainability and development of companies and factories. This will help to develop the industrial sector in Sharjah by continuing to carry out such frequent field visits, which would enhance the strategic partnership with the private sector and touch their needs, providing an ideal business environment in the Emirate and attracting more investments in the industrial sector.

From her side, Mariam Nasir Al Suwaidi, Deputy Director of Industrial Affairs Department at SEDD, said that the services provided by industrial facilities and factories owners help to provide a fast and safe work environment and increases the sustainability of business and activities, and is keen to provide advice and technical support to these factories. This was done to enhance quality of its products and work on studying all the challenges and difficulties it faces in order to come up with results, recommendations and supportive decisions that enhance these industrial investments in Sharjah.

She stressed on SEDD’s concerns to support the expansion plans of companies and establishments operating in the emirate globally, and to support these companies in exporting their products to promising markets and providing facilities and services that enhance the presence of industrial companies in various countries of the world.

From their side, the owners of factories and industrial establishments valued the visit of SEDD delegation, stressing their keenness to continue to work so that their factories would contribute effectively to providing an added value to the industrial sector in Sharjah. Also, it was done to support the efforts of the Emirate’s government to activate the role of the private sector to be a strategic partner in achieving sustainable economic development in Sharjah. They praised the support given by the Department to private sector establishments, and its tireless interest and unremitting efforts in promoting national exports, in a way that contributes to developing the industrial sector and serving its workers in the best way and providing the appropriate support to them in a more effective manner.
