SEDD organizes "Future Entrepreneurs 2" Panel Discussion

Sharjah Economic Development Department “SEDD” organized a virtual panel discussion under the title “Future Entrepreneurs 2” that was held in conjunction with World Entrepreneurs Day and in cooperation with Sharjah Foundation for Supporting Entrepreneurship "RUWAD". During the session, the specifications of the entrepreneur, the steps for success in implementing private projects, and the areas of support provided by the Government of Sharjah to the economic sector and motivating young people to enter the field of entrepreneurship were introduced.

The panel discussion included introducing the services of the “RUWAD” Foundation membership program, introducing the services its financing program and the benefits and facilities that members obtain. Also, it adopted the training programs it provides, professional diploma programs and consulting services, in addition to financing services. Likely, the session deliberated the procedures for obtaining an e-commerce license from SEDD.

Furthermore, the session highlighted the experiences of a number of successful entrepreneurship projects in the emirate, such as the Memorial Project for the flower and gift trade and the Velvet Threads project for e-commerce. This was done with the aim to enhance the spirit of entrepreneurship and inspire the next generation to talk about the story to launch projects, the challenges they faced, the experiences gained, and ways to sustain the project in the future.

Moreover, the speakers emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship and its contribution to the economic sector and job creation. Also, many examples of success stories and experiences were presented to benefit from, including a presentation of two successful pilot projects in the emirate.

Commenting on that, HE Sultan Abdullah bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, SEDD Chairman, stated that the wise directives of the leadership in Sharjah Government to provide an attractive environment for entrepreneurs and project owners, have an important and positive impact on the business sector. It helped to provide scientific and practical training platforms for entrepreneurs. Also, it worked to offer marketing platforms and institutions concerned with their support and provision all the elements of success for them. In addition, HE explained that entrepreneurship requires many qualities, including the courage to make decisions, the desire and determination to succeed and self-reliance.

Likely, Al Suwaidi said that Sharjah has the elements that enable it to build an integrated business system, strong economic relations worldwide, and the establishment of partnerships in various sectors. This has provided a solid foundation for aspiring entrepreneurs to expand into global markets.

For his part, Abdelaziz Omar Al Midfa, Deputy Director of Government Communication Department at SEDD, said out that the workshop came within the framework of the department's efforts to enhance the emirate's position on the global entrepreneurship map, and to contribute to the consolidation of its strategic vision, aimed at advancing innovation and achieving positive impact. He pointed out that SEDD, represented by “RUWAD” Foundation, has enabled entrepreneurs to establish companies that are able to compete globally in vital market sectors, and achieve growth and success in various fields.

Moreover, Al Midfa added that SEDD pays great attention to national projects and entrepreneurship according to the adopted strategic goals, considering that SMEs, especially Emirati ones, provides added value to the market through the various services and products it offers to individuals and institutions, in addition to creating new jobs. He illustrated that such projects empower male and female entrepreneurs and owners of small and medium enterprises to achieve success in national entrepreneurship in the country in all economic sectors.
