Sharjah Economic Development Department “SEDD” received Financial Performance Excellence Award within the category of "Application of Financial Auditing and Control Standards" during the ceremony announcing the winners of the fifth edition of the Financial Performance Excellence Award. This award was organized by Sharjah Finance Department at Al Qasimia University Theatre in University City of Sharjah, which aimed at promoting a culture of excellence in government financial performance in accordance with the requirements of the government to develop the financial system. This award is considered one of the most prestigious types of institutional and individual excellence awards in public finance, financial planning and management of purchases and tenders at the local, federal and regional levels.

Commenting on that, HE Sultan Abdullah bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, SEDD Chairman, said that this great achievement was the result of the dedication of all employees in the Department and their concerted efforts in order to achieve a sustainable competitive environment in accordance with the best practices of government financial work. Also, HE stated that this achievement comes in line with the directives of HH Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and the pursuit of HH Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Chairman of Sharjah Executive Council, to provide qualified human energies and capabilities as well as the necessary financial resources to build a distinct and sustainable society.

Likely, HE stressed on the continuation of SEDD in providing its services through continuous development, by activating and developing performance measurement tools and evaluation criteria, raising the level of efficiency and effectiveness in managing financial resources, preserving public money, and improving the level of financial cadres to achieve the desired development goals.

Moreover, HE indicated that the Department’s participation in these qualitative and distinguished awards comes as an achievement of its plan to activate and develop the human and financial cadres it owns. Such thing falls within its efforts to enhance the spirit of competition, excellence and leadership in the financial field and to highlight the importance of activating approved practices within studied and effective financial plans in order to achieve the best desired results and indicators in the professional and financial field, which fall within its vision and strategic plan.
