To strengthen financial and economic awareness among employees' children SEDD organizes “Little Economist” Initiative
As part of its commitment to supporting economic culture, Sharjah Economic Development Department “SEDD” has launched the "Little Economist" initiative, a training program for employees' children. The program aims to develop financial awareness and economic skills among young people, coinciding with the Year of Community.
This program is part of the Department's commitment to building an economically aware generation capable of understanding the concepts of saving and investment and acquiring entrepreneurial principles from an early age. The program embraces a series of interactive workshops presented in innovative ways and tailored to the target age group, contributing to strengthening financial literacy in a practical and engaging manner.
Commenting on this initiative, Noura Al Zarouni, Deputy Director of Support Services Department at SEDD, said that the ‘Little Economist’ initiative will help to instill the concepts of financial awareness and sound economic behavior among children in an enjoyable, interactive environment. She carried on that the initiative reflects SEDD’s belief in the importance of empowering this group and providing them with life skills that qualify them for creative thinking and financial responsibility. Also, Al Zarouni added that the initiative falls within SEDD’s efforts to strengthen community ties between employees and their families, in line with the state's goal of making 2025 the Year of Community.
Likely, Al Zarouni stressed that the ‘Little Economist’ initiative embodies the Department's vision of empowering society, starting with the family, and promoting positive values that support sustainable economic development. Additionally, she emphasized that through this program, SEDD seeks to stimulate a spirit of innovation and financial responsibility among children, preparing them to become active individuals in the future.
Furthermore, the program extends over 8 days and includes introductory workshops on the role of service sections at SEDD such as commercial control, commercial protection, registration and licensing, various workshops on economics, expenses, savings, and balanced budget activity, in addition to introductory workshops on “Masar” license and business stars.
