SEDD obtains ISO of Artificial Intelligence Management System
Sharjah Economic Development Department “SEDD” succeeded in obtaining ISO 42001:2023 of Artificial Intelligence Management System. This achievement comes as a confirmation of its commitment to adopting the highest standards of quality, transparency, and credibility in its digital services and solutions. This achievement is considered the first of its type among government entities which is also the first internationally recognized standard specification for the Artificial Intelligence Management System (AIMS), reflecting the confidence in the AI systems adopted by the Department in its various operations.
This success comes after the Department successfully passed the audit, verifying its commitment to implementing and following approved procedures and processes, and examining documents to ensure they conform to the requirements of the Artificial Intelligence Management System, according to the standards. This reflects SEDD’s commitment to the standards and it thrive to continue the improvement process in the levels and mechanisms of its service delivery, in accordance with the best international standards. Additionally, this certificate defines the requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and improving a comprehensive artificial intelligence management system within organizations. Also, it seeks to enhances the reliability of intelligent systems, ensures their adherence to ethical standards, and contributes to improving the efficiency and quality of services provided.
Commenting on that, HE Hamad Ali Abdalla Al Mahmoud, SEDD Chairman, emphasized that the obtaining of ISO 42001:2023 of Artificial Intelligence Management System confirms SEDD’s commitment to developing its various economic operations by adopting artificial intelligence systems. This will contribute to strengthening the emirate's leadership and global competitiveness in various fields of artificial intelligence, using it in constructive and positive ways for the benefit of humanity, enhancing the quality of life, and ensuring customer happiness. On the other hand, Ali Ahmed Al Naqbi, Director of IT Department at SEDD, illustrated that the Economic Department is constantly keen to develop the levels and mechanisms of service provision by adopting artificial intelligence systems to serve all services provided. He added that this contributes to enhancing the service delivery system that contributes to customer happiness. It also reflects the SEDD's commitment to adopting and managing artificial intelligence systems effectively, and developing a flexible digital infrastructure ready to keep pace with technological changes. This ensures the provision of advanced government services that meet future aspirations and facilitate customer communication with the Department quickly and effectively.
