Hamad Al Mahmoud: Sharjah continues to strengthen a competitive investment environment that attracts global capital

Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) has concluded its participation in the AIM Congress 2026, an event that drew over 25,000 participants from 191 countries. During the congress, the Department showcased Sharjah’s key economic and investment strengths, as well as the opportunities available to investors across various vital and promising sectors.

The congress served as a global platform bringing together an elite group of investors, decision-makers, officials, and representatives of economic and investment institutions from around the world. It explored ways to boost investment and support sustainable economic growth, while also examining trends and developments shaping global markets.

Commenting on this participation, HE Hamad Ali Abdullah Al Mahmoud, SEDD Chairman and Member of Sharjah Executive Council, affirmed that the Emirate’s participation in AIM Congress 2026 aligns with its vision to strengthen its presence on the global investment map and cement its status as an attractive destination for high-quality investments, underpinned by an integrated economic ecosystem and a business environment characterized by flexibility, competitiveness, and sustainability.

His Excellency stated: "Sharjah’s participation in AIM Congress 2026 reflects the Emirate’s commitment to strengthening its presence in international economic and investment forums and showcasing its diverse investment assets and opportunities. This goes in line with a strategic vision, guided by our wise leadership, aimed at building a sustainable economy, enhancing the competitiveness of the business environment, and attracting high-quality investments, capital, and talent."

Also, HE added: “SEDD will carry on its role to develop an integrated system of services, facilities and incentives that meet the needs of investors and support the flexibility of doing business, thereby enhancing the ability of companies and projects to grow and expand, and opening new horizons for investors to take advantage of the promising opportunities provided by the emirate.”

Furthermore, HE noted that SEDD participation in the congress was an important opportunity to communicate directly with investors and global economic institutions, to highlight Sharjah’s competitive advantages, and to explore opportunities for cooperation and investment partnerships that contribute to supporting economic growth and enhancing investment flows.
