SEDD Successfully Passes Periodic Review of Benchmarking Management Certificate

Sharjah Economic Development Department “SEDD” has once again passed the procedures of the periodic follow-up visit for ISO Benchmarking Management Certificate 7070:2016 in this year. This achievement was attained according to the report issued by the resident company whereas the audit results showed SEDD’s full commitment to the requirements of the administrative system compliant with the standard. Therefore, it was recommended to continue granting the ISO certificate to the Department.

This reflects the Department’s commitment to enhancing the institutional excellence system, raising the level of operational readiness, and ensuring the sustainability of improvement and development in accordance with approved international standards. Also, such thing goes in line with the directions and vision of the Government of Sharjah in achieving leadership and excellence in government work.

For this regard, Dr. Ahmed Ali Al Ali, Deputy Director of Strategic Planning and Performance Department at SEDD, explained that passing the ISO audit of the standard specifications confirms the commitment of the Department to the international quality standards, and reflects the mutual efforts and effective integration between the various sections. He added that SEDD pays great attention to align its strategic plans with clear and measurable performance indicators, in order to ensure the achievement of sustainable results that contribute to the development of the work environment and the improvement of the level of services provided.

Also, Dr. Al Ali added that the Department will continue to work to promote a culture of outstanding performance, develop measurement and analysis tools, and benefit from audit results in supporting continuous improvement initiatives. All of this is done in order to achieve optimal use of resources and raise the efficiency of institutional performance in the long term.

Moreover, Dr. Al Ali pointed out that the next phase will witness more development initiatives that focus on innovation, anticipating challenges, and improving the customer experience, in line with the Department's vision and mission to support sustainable economic development in Sharjah.

It is worth mentioning that this achievement reflects SEDD’s concerns to adhere to international standards, enhance transparency and reliability in labor systems, and consolidate its position as a leading government institution in the field of economic regulation and the provision of quality services in accordance with international best practices.
