SEDD promotes Data Analysis & Decision-Making Culture through Specialized Program

Sharjah Economic Development Department “SEDD” organized a training program entitled “Data Analysis & Decision Making”, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the efficiency of officials and enable them to use data to support the decision-making process.

The program aimed at developing the employees’ skills in analyzing data and extracting indicators and information that contribute to making accurate decisions based on scientific foundations, in line with modern trends in data-driven government work.

The workshop covered several topics, including understanding the data lifecycle, cleaning and preparing data for analysis, data analysis and extracting key metrics, designing dashboards, and translating data outputs into actionable recommendations.It should be noted that SEDD also works to overcome the obstacles facing entrepreneurs, by providing them with an incubator and stimulating investment environment that enables them to be creative and productive.

Also, the workshop addressed providing decision-makers with accurate data and executive reports, and the use of modern analytical techniques to improve performance and enhance decision-making efficiency. In addition, it showcased practical models and real-world applications to strengthen participants' understanding.

Commenting on the workshop, Noura Haji Al Zarouni, Acting Director of Support Services Department at SEDD, affirmed that organizing this program comes as part of the Department's commitment to invest in human capital and enhance employee capabilities in analysis and decision-making. Additionally, Al Zarouni noted that adopting data-driven methodologies contributes to improving institutional performance and achieving excellence in service delivery. Furthermore, Al Zarouni added that SEDD will carry on its role to launch and provide quality training initiatives and programs that contribute to building an innovative and knowledge-based working environment, and enhance the readiness of its staff to keep pace with future changes, in order to support the achievement of its strategic goals and enhance the competitiveness of the emirate.
