Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) has intensified its inspection campaigns across all economic establishments, particularly those whose activities are linked to the Eid Al Adha holiday season. The department has also organized awareness and monitoring campaigns throughout the emirate to introduce consumers and merchants about their rights and responsibilities, ensuring market safety.

In addition, SEDD clarified its full readiness for Eid Al Adha, stating that it is operating according to its plans to monitor the emirate's markets through its inspection campaigns to ensure the integrity of all economic practices. These inspection campaigns covered all food service establishments, retail outlets, livestock markets, cooperative societies, men's and women's salons, gold markets, and all other economic establishments whose activities are related to Eid season.

Also, SEDD emphasized its commitment to implementing extensive inspection and awareness campaigns throughout the emirate to promote consumer rights and responsibilities, as well as to familiarize merchants with the approved regulations and procedures. This reflects its dedication to consumer protection and its concern for the safety of the emirate's markets.

Furthermore, SEDD explained that its commercial control and protection teams have intensified their field visits and inspection campaigns of the emirate's markets recently. These campaigns targeted several major markets to inform merchants and retailers of the necessity of displaying price lists for products and to provide guidance on the importance of adhering to regulations and ensuring consumers are aware of the value and quality of consumer goods. Also, SEDD emphasized that it is important to clearly displaying prices to consumers before purchase to prevent any violations in the sales process.

Moreover, The Department noted that it conducts regular inspection campaigns in the emirate's markets through a comprehensive field plan implemented throughout the year by a specialized team of commercial officers. These tours are intensified in the days leading up to major seasons to ensure market regulation, raise awareness among merchants and consumers, and to stop the malpractices that some merchants may resort to.

Finally, SEDD calls all the consumers to report any violations or complaints during the Eid holidays by calling the Department directly at 80080000 or through the official website (www.sedd.ae) or through the digital services available SEDD smart application. The Department also confirmed that it will continue to provide its digital services during Eid holiday through its smart platforms available around the clock, in order to ensure the continuity of services and the ease of completing transactions.
