As the first local and federal government department at UAE’s level SEDD obtains HR Management ISO Certificate

Sharjah Economic Development Department “SEDD” succeeded in obtaining ISO 23326:2022 of Human Resources Management as the first government entity at the local and federal levels in UAE. Such thing is a continuation of the Department’s long record of international standards certificates for human resources management systems.

This success comes after passing the auditing work, verifying the commitment of the various departments and sections at SEDD to implementing and following the approved procedures and operations, studying the documents and their conformity with the conditions of the Human Resources Management System, according to the standards, and the Department’s full fulfillment of the requirements of the administrative system compatible with the aforementioned specification. This reflects SEDD’s commitment to human resources standards, and its keenness to continuously improve the levels and mechanisms of providing its services according to the best international standards.

In this regard, HE Hamad Ali Abdulla Al Mahmoud, SEDD Chairman, said that the Department’s obtaining the ISO23326:2022 of Human Resources Management System certificate as the first government entity at the local and federal levels reflects the soundness of the path pursued by the Department, and the great achievements it has made, whether at the internal level related to management efficiency and excellence of procedures, or at the external level focused on supporting the economic movement in Sharjah and enhancing economic growth in its various sectors, the results of which are translated into the licenses issued and renewed in the emirate during 2024, and mutual partnerships with many entities in the government and private sectors.

Also, HE stressed that this achievement would not have been possible without the great dedication and loyalty of the Department’s employees, stressing that SEDD is working to develop the emirate’s economy through planning and providing distinguished services using qualified human cadres, which is consistent with the Department’s goals of working to achieve sustainable economic development and quality in practices.

For his part, Abdullah Al Mahmoud, Director of Support Services Department at SEDD, said that the Department’s obtaining the Human Resources Management System certificate is the result of its commitment, within its policies, to enhance the human resources system and consolidate its position as an entity that keeps pace with modern business requirements. Likely, HE pointed out that this confirms the strength of the Department’s administrative structure, enhances its keenness to implement performance indicators and integrated administrative systems, and achieves its strategic objectives calling for adopting best practices in procedures and performance development systems, as the application of the functional engagement system contributes to enhancing interaction and participation between employees and management, and enhances employees’ sense of responsibility and belonging, which results in increased commitment, improved performance, and increased productivity within the Department, leading to a diversified and sustainable economy. On the other hand, Dr. Ahmed Al Ali, Deputy Director of Strategic Planning and Performance Department at SEDD, stated that the Department works according to the highest standards of basic tools to achieve SEDD’s vision, which is one of the most prominent objectives to develop the services provided to customers and strategic partners and adopt the best practices in procedures, quality systems and institutional excellence. He carried on that the employees’ efforts to provide the factors and conditions for achieving quality practices in the various departments and sections, and their commitment and keenness to accomplish the required tasks in this regard, which qualified the Department to achieve its desired goals. Also, he added that SEDD pays great attention to ensuing the continuity of the quality system and providing the latest training and qualification techniques for employees, to contribute to achieving the department's goals and providing the best possible service to customers. Moreover, Al Ali explained that the criteria for obtaining ISO certificates constitute an important element in the process of institutional development towards excellence and providing high-quality services that achieve the happiness of SEDD clients, which in turn help to attain a successful strategic policy set by the Department’s senior management.
