SEDD Chairman visits Markets before Ramadan

His Excellency Hamad Ali Abdullah Al Mahmoud, Chairman of Sharjah Economic Development Department, conducted an inspection tour on the emirate’s markets, with the aim of closely monitoring the movement of the markets and reviewing the preparations for the holy month of Ramadan.

The tour included major markets in the emirate, where HE SEDD Chairman met with shop owners and consumers, and listened to their opinions and comments, in light of the increasing demand for purchases during the holy month. During the tour, HE was also informed about the market needs, services provided, logistical facilities, and obstacles that can be addressed to enhance sales movement, which in turn contributes to increasing sales and retail trade and increases the volume of domestic trade to become the most important sources for developing the national economy.

Likewise, the tour comes within SEDD’s concerns to protect consumers and its interest in developing services in Sharjah’s various markets, and in line with the Department’s strategic objectives to contribute to achieving and leading comprehensive economic development in the emirate.

Furthermore, HE SEDD Chairman highlighted the importance of integrity of all economic practices, emphasizing the need to enhance transparency and cooperation between traders and consumers, to ensure a fair and sustainable economic environment. It is worth mentioning that such visit falls within SEDD’s tours plan on economic establishments to enhance the business environment and monitor markets, ensuring the best services are provided to consumers and merchants during the holy month of Ramadan.
