SEDD, FTA organize Tax Workshop

Sharjah Economic Development Department “SEDD”, in cooperation with the Federal Tax Authority “FTA”, organized a tax work workshop, during which the legislative framework of the tax system in UAE was reviewed and the legislation and procedures related to value-added tax “VAT” were highlighted, as well as the role played by the Authority in managing, collecting and implementing federal taxes based on best practices.

This workshop was held in order to enhance direct communication with customers and to look into their opinions and suggestions. Such thing will contribute at developing services, raising the level of efficiency, and improving the customer experience.

The workshop witnessed the participation of a number of representatives of companies and institutions from the private sector, where the services and procedures related to issuing tax certificates and registering tax groups were reviewed, in addition to discussing a number of related topics, answering the participants’ inquiries, and clarifying the procedures and requirements associated with these services. Additionally, such workshop included a discussion between the participants and representatives of the two parties, during which observations and suggestions related to the services provided were reviewed, and ways to enhance cooperation were discussed in order to support the achievement of best practices in providing government services and contribute to enhancing customer satisfaction. It should be noted that SEDD confirmed that organizing such workshops comes within its ongoing efforts to enhance partnership with various government agencies and the private sector, and to provide effective communication channels that allow for identifying the needs and aspirations of customers, which contributes to developing the business environment and supporting the competitiveness of the emirate.
