SEDD announces “Issuing Trade Names by AI” in JITEX 2025

As part of its participation in the Sharjah Government Pavilion at GITEX 2025, Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) showcased a trade name issuance service using artificial intelligence technologies, a qualitative step that enhances the Department's digital transformation journey towards providing integrated digital services to individuals and businesses.

This service is considered part of the services provided by "Sharjah Digital Assistant," developed by Sharjah Digital Department as a qualitative addition to the Sharjah Digital Platform. This comes as part of its commitment to investing in emerging technologies to enhance the integration of government services in the emirate within a single system that contributes to accelerating procedures and improving service efficiency.

SEDD seeks through this service to facilitate the issuance of trade names through a simple and user-friendly interface, reducing time and effort by automating the process and improving operational efficiency. It also aims to improve the quality of trade names to align with the business's identity, encourage entrepreneurship, and enhance Sharjah's position as a leading center for the application of artificial intelligence technologies.

Furthermore, trade name issuance service that is powered by AI technology includes a range of benefits, most notably reducing the completion process of trade name issuance by up to 98%, providing personalized suggestions based on user activity and preferences, improving the user experience and reducing human errors, thanks to the integration of generative AI technologies into core processes.

Commenting on that, HE Hamad Ali Abdullah Al Mahmoud, SEDD Chairman and Member of Sharjah Executive Council, emphasized that through the participation in the new edition of GITEX, the Department is working to harness all resources and create and offer all new, advanced electronic services aimed at simplifying procedures for customers.

Also, HE explained that the Department is working to implement and enhance its digital services in cooperation and coordination with all the entities in Sharjah, in accordance with the directives of HH Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and the pursuit of HH Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Chairman of the Executive Council. These directives require work with a high degree of quality, greater fluidity and accuracy, and achieving the vision emanating from the strategy of Sharjah in particular and UAE in general, and implementing the directives of the wise leadership on the necessity of facilitating the public, providing the best services, and utilizing modern technologies.

Al Mahmoud Also added that the project embodies SEDD’s vision to enhance digital infrastructure and leverage modern technology to support the development process. It also enhances the flexibility and efficiency of the emirate's business environment, facilitates the establishment of companies and businesses across various disciplines, and boosts the attractiveness of local and foreign investments in Sharjah.

Moreover, HE SEDD Chairman stated that all of the Department's digital transformation projects stem from a firm commitment to employing the latest modern technologies, ensuring the provision of innovative services that enhance the customer experience and improve performance efficiency. This goes in line with the Department's efforts to provide advanced government services that keep pace with future aspirations and facilitate customer communication with the Department quickly and effectively.
