SEDD receives SCTDA to Promote Cooperation

HE Hamad Ali Abdalla Al Mahmoud, Chairman of Sharjah Economic Development Department “SEDD” revived HE Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority “SCTDA”, and his accompanying delegation. The meeting aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two parties and exchanging expertise to advance economic and commercial development in Sharjah.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation in the fields of tourism and trade attraction and encourage investments to take advantage of the opportunities available in the emirate. Also, the meeting highlighted developing, simplifying, and raising services to the highest levels, which go in line with Sharjah's strategic vision to enhance the business environment and provide the best services. Such thing reflects the emirate's position as a global city that provides the best and most sophisticated services in all areas of life. Additionally, mechanisms for supporting mutual projects that contribute to enhancing the emirate's economic competitiveness were also discussed.

Commenting on this meeting, HE Hamad Ali Abdalla Al Mahmoud, SEDD Chairman, emphasized the importance of strengthening strategic partnerships between government entities, which contributes to achieving integration and exchanging expertise to serve sustainable development goals.

Also, HE SEDD Chairman added that the Department is moving forward with its development journey in accordance with the vision of HH Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, which aims to provide all capabilities to the business sector, investors and customers, and contribute to achieving sustainable economic development that serves all sectors in Sharjah.

On the other hand, HE Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman SCTDA, pointed out that this visit comes within the Authority's commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships with various government entities in the emirate, given their pivotal role in supporting the growth of the tourism and commercial sectors and achieving institutional integration that serves comprehensive development.

Furthermore, HE Jasim Al Midfa added: "The cooperation with SEDD reflects the emirate's strategic directions to diversify the economy and create an attractive environment for investment and tourism. This is achieved through unifying efforts and exchanging expertise to develop qualitative initiatives and projects that enhance Sharjah's position as a leading destination for business and tourism at the regional and international levels”.

Moreover, HE SCTDA Chairman illustrated that the integration between the economic and tourism sectors is a key driver for supporting the local economy and opening new horizons for growth. He pointed out that such thing goes in line with the vision of HH Ruler of Sharjah to consolidate Sharjah's position as a leading and sustainable economic and tourism destination.

It should be noted that this meeting falls within the efforts to enhance cooperation between government agencies, provide all necessary resources to the business sector, investors, and customers, and contribute to achieving sustainable economic development that serves all sectors in Sharjah, in accordance with the directives of the wise leadership. It also promotes economic diversification, a pillar of Sharjah's economic policy.
