HE Hamad Ali Abdalla Al Mahmoud, Chairman of Sharjah Economic Development Department “SEDD” and Member of Sharjah Executive Council, received a delegation from Al Qasimia University “AQU” headed by HE Professor Dr. Awad Al Khalaf, Director of Al Qasimia University, and the students participating in “Knowledge Economy” program at SEDD headquarter. This meeting was held as a follow-up of the cooperation program between the Department and Al Qasimia University, which included judging the scientific research submitted by the participating students.

This meeting comes within the framework of the strategic partnership between the two sides, and their keenness to support the scientific research process and promote the concepts of the knowledge economy among students. Thus, it was organized in order to contribute to preparing qualified national cadres capable of keeping pace with economic transformations, and harnessing innovation in the service of sustainable development.

The meeting witnessed honoring the winning student research projects that were distinguished by their scientific originality and connection to practical applications in the fields of economics and development, in appreciation of their efforts and to motivate them to continue scientific excellence.

Thus, HE SEDD Chairman, said that the Department pays great attention to strengthening cooperation with academic institutions, noting that investing in young talents is a fundamental pillar for building a competitive and innovative knowledge based economy, and that supporting applied scientific research contributes to finding realistic solutions to current economic challenges.

HE added: “We value our partnership with Al Qasimia University, and through these initiatives we seek to enable students to learn about practical experiences and attach their academic outputs to the needs of the labor market.”

On the other hand, HE Professor Dr. Awad Al Khalaf, Director of Al Qasimia University, expressed his gratitude to SEDD for its continuous cooperation, emphasizing that this program embodies the integration of academic and practical aspects, and provides students with a genuine opportunity to apply their knowledge and participate in research that serves the national economy.

Also, HE illustrated that honoring the winning students serves as an incentive to continue research and innovation, and reflects Sharjah's commitment to support scientific and academic excellence."

It should be noted that this cooperation seeks to enhance integration between governmental and academic entities, and to solidify Sharjah's position as a leading center in supporting education, scientific research, and knowledge based economy.
