It is a step to issue the license and includes the trade name, activity, names of the partners, type of license, and the legal form of the establishment.

- License application form.
- Investor registration form.
- Copy of the ID card and passport (for UAE national investors), if required.
- Copy of the passport or ID card (for non-national investors), if required.
- Approval from the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs.
- No Objection Certificate (for non-national investors) working in any government or federal entity in the Emirate of Sharjah.
- Court-issued trade permission for minors under 18 years of age, if required.
- Approvals from official authorities according to the business activity.
- Presence of the concerned parties or their legal representatives (only when the investor visits the department or service centers).
- Declaration and undertaking form from the investor stating that they do not work for any government or federal entity in the Emirate of Sharjah, in case the investor holds more than ten licenses.
- Issuance of Trade Name – 250 AED
- Issuance of Translated Trade Name – 1250 AED
- Issuance of Foreign Trade Name – 2250 AED
- Reservation of Trade Name – 1000 AED
The trade name must have an Arabic meaning, except for the following cases:
- Names of branches of foreign companies registered abroad.
- Names of branches of companies, whether local or foreign.
Names that are not allowed to be registered:
- Names and attributes of divinity, unless it is a compound personal name.
- Names of global (well-known) companies, unless it is a branch of such a company.
- Names of local, Arab, or international bodies, institutions, and organizations.
- Names that conflict with registered trademarks in the country, unless the applicant is authorized to use them.
- Names that conflict with public order and morals in the country.
- Vague names, or those similar to registered names, or names that may mislead the public.
It is not permitted to choose the names of important landmarks in the country, including but not limited to: (Emirates, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Burj Khalifa, Zabeel, Al Wasl), nor is it permitted to use them when combined with terms like "City" or "Village."
It is also not permitted to choose the following names: Olympic, Union, Zulal, Al Arsa, Al Hadeetha (Modern), Al Jadeeda (New), Al Arabiya (Arabian), Al Qasba, numbers, letters, or Al Qadeem (Old).
