SEDD organizes “Clean Energy” Seminar
Sharjah Economic Development Department “SEDD” in coordination with “Beeah” Group organized “Clean Energy” Seminar that coincides with the International Day of Clean Energy in order to support efforts to move towards renewable and clean energy sources to achieve a balance between economic growth and the preservation of natural resources.
The seminar discussed the concept of "clean energy", which contributes to enhancing sustainability and the efficient use of resources, as well as the concerted national efforts to accelerate the transition towards an innovative and sustainable circular economy, which is a new model of fast-growing economic development models based on knowledge of environmental economies in order to introduce legislation aimed at attracting investment financing opportunities in projects related to energy, environment and climate change to support sustainable development.
The seminar also addressed the role of clean energy in achieving economic growth by focusing on innovation in the field of clean technology, enhancing investments and seeking solutions based on natural resources, as benefiting from advanced technology that enhances sustainable development represents an essential aspect of the economic diversification strategy adopted by UAE in general and Sharjah in particular.
It should be noted that SEDD stressed on the importance of the role it plays in supporting the national sustainability agenda, clean energy and green investment. Such thing is done to enhances the country's economic growth through the initiatives that the Department is keen to provide in the field of sustainable investment. Likely, it is worth mentioning that works to inspire and support clean energy projects, expand the use of all types of new, renewable and environmentally friendly energies, and encourage industrial facilities to adopt energy conservation technologies in all their forms.
Additionally, the seminar is considered a continuation of the awareness initiatives that SEDD focuses to provide with the aim of spreading awareness of clean energy standards and the importance of their implementation. Also, it should be noted that the emirate of Sharjah has set an ambitious goal of relying on a diversified and innovative knowledge-based economy in line with global trends to confront climate change, promote green and sustainable development projects, and support Sharjah's efforts to achieve sustainable development goals with a focus on renewable and clean energy solutions. Moreover, the seminar provides a distinguished platform to enhance cooperation between government and private entities to advance sustainable development.
