Hamad Al Mahmoud: Sharjah's 2026 Budget Reflects Ruler's Vision for Comprehensive and Sustainable Development
HE Hamad Ali Abdulla Al Mahmoud, Chairman of Sharjah Economic Development Department and Member of the Executive Council, affirmed that the approval of Sharjah’s budget by HH Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, embodies the wise leadership's commitment to supporting the path of sustainable development and enhancing the quality of life and social well-being for all residents of the Emirate.
Al Mahmoud explained that the total expenditures of the budget reached approximately AED 44.5 billion, the largest in the history of Sharjah. Also, HE pointed out that this budget aims to achieve financial sustainability, ensure a decent standard of living, and support the requirements of comprehensive development in various vital sectors.
Additionally, HE commended the wise vision of HH the Ruler of Sharjah and his continuous efforts in building an advanced and prosperous society, emphasizing that the budget contributes to enhancing investment in the economic, infrastructure, social, cultural, and tourism sectors, thereby supporting the Emirate's competitiveness and strengthening the sustainability of its financial position. Also, HE SEDD Chairman pointed out that the directives of HH to increase the budget, allocating 30% of it to the economic development sector, with a growth rate of 17% compared to last year, reflect the depth of the emirate’s strategic vision, and the leadership’s concerns to stimulate economic activity and create an attractive environment for investment, in line with future aspirations and serving long-term development goals.
