Sharjah Economic Development Department “SEDD” concluded its visit with UAE’s delegation to Italy, which was organized by the Ministry of Economy. During the visit, HE Eng. Sultan Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, headed the delegation to contribute at the Italian-Arab Business Forum. Thus, UAE was the “guest honor” the current session of the forum, with the participation of delegations from a number of Arab countries and in the presence of a number of officials, businessmen and investment companies from Italy and Arab countries. In addition, SEDD’s delegation was headed by Abdelaziz Omar Al Midfa, Deputy Director of Government Communication Department.

Sharjah Economic Development Department “SEDD” participates in GITEX Week under the Government of Sharjah pavilion that is inspired by the environment of UAE. Through the pavilion, SEDD presents its latest technological achievements and qualitative shift in its services and digital initiative. Such a thing enables customers to complete their transactions through multiple channels, which in turn saves the time and effort of investors, enabling them to follow their work anywhere and anytime.
As part of the efforts of government institutions to achieve the best quality standards, Sharjah Economic Development Department “SEDD” obtained ISO 22301:2012 of Business Continuity “BCMS” from Intertek Group as the first Department to obtain this certificate. Such a thing reflects the readiness of SEDD to carry out its work to the fullest, regardless of the crises and challenges facing it and provide vital services to all partners and clients during emergencies and crises. All of this reflects the Department’s commitment to international quality standards and its keenness to improve the levels and mechanisms of providing services to all customers according to the best international standards. Also, it shows SEDD’s ability to carry out its work to the fullest extent, regardless of the crises and challenges facing it. Thus, according to the report issued by the company and based on the follow-up visit data for this certificate of the year 2018, the results of showed a clear commitment to the requirements of the administrative system in accordance with the said standard.
Sharjah Economic Development Department “SEDD” was able to renew the certificate of compliance with the conditions of prevention and safety of buildings. This certificate is issued after verifying that they meet these conditions by field inspection by special committees from the General Department of Civil Defence in Sharjah. This certificate is not renewed until the building are inspected periodically by the Civil Defence to ensure that they continue to meet the requirements of security and safety. Also, such procedure comes as part of number of procedures followed by SEDD.

SEDD organizes "Investment in Human Capital" Workshop
Sharjah Economic Development Department “SEDD” organized a workshop under the title “Investment in Human Capital” which was held in cooperation with the Directorate of Human Resources in Sharjah. The workshop aimed to highlight the importance of developing human resources in various sectors and the importance of including it in the adjectives of the authorities of Sharjah, which are the vision sighted by HH Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. This called the Department to organize this workshop, which included the global framework for investment in human resources and the current situation of the Emirate of Sharjah in this area.
