SEDD receives RAK DED

Sharjah Economic Development Department “SEDD” received Ras Al Khaimah Department of Economic Development “RAK DED” in order to discuss ways of cooperation and discuss best practices in licensing and authorizing mobile vehicles as well as activating mutual work between all local and federal government institutions and departments. This falls within the aim to achieve integration, coordination and effective harmonization among them to provide the best services.

Commenting on that, HE Sultan Abdullah bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, SEDD Chairman, stressed on the importance of holding such meetings, which would enhance cooperation and mutual coordination to contribute to achieving sustainable economic development in the country. The two parties discussed common matters and mechanisms as well as ways to enhance this cooperation in order to provide all possibilities for the business sector, investors and dealers to contribute to achieving sustainable economic development in a manner that serves all sectors in all the emirates and implements the directions of the rational leadership in UAE.

Also, HE said that the Department is keen to strengthen its cooperation frameworks with various local, regional and international bodies to contribute to achieving the leadership of the country and Sharjah and its leadership in all fields. Likely, he highlighted the need to achieve integration between all government agencies to improve services and achieve people's aspirations. HE added: "The Department pays most attention to everything that supports its goals by sharing a summary of its expertise, experiences and achievements in all fields, to attain its strategic plan aimed at providing highly efficient government services."

During the meeting, the most important procedures for carrying out economic activities through mobile cars in the Emirate of Sharjah were presented. The new activities launched by the Department through mobile cars in accordance with Sharjah Executive Council Resolution No. 11 of 2021 regarding the regulation of the practice of economic activities through mobile cars in the emirate, with the aim of finding a mechanism to open new windows for sales and service provision, and stimulating the economic movement in Sharjah. The decision specified many commercial and economic activities. Such activities included veterinary clinics, ladies spa, gents barber shops, gents tailoring, women tailoring, pets spa, car washing, changing car tires and oil, car electrical repair, car window tinting, as well as flower and plant trading. The decision also specified that the permit applicant must commit to not providing the service except upon consumer request.

The two parties also discussed a number of other issues of common interest, such as observing the markets, monitoring permits for sales and special offers, and other issues. At the end of the meeting, the two parties stressed on the importance of continuing to strengthen cooperation between them in line with the government service standards that the federal and local government aspire to. They also praised the importance of holding such meetings in the future because of their role in accelerating development processes and enhancing the investment movement in the country.
